Dear Sister

Day's end of sun 
A crown atop Potrero Hill 
The busy Mission 
Cooling down in shadow now

Been learning all my lines 
Each given day insists 
On my attention 
How will it be to say goodbye 
Dear friend 
To say farewell

Bright times and people
We have met  
Bound up with you and me 
And every time we laugh 
An eddy starts to wind
All of our days around
Bright leaves all fallen in the stream

Potrero's crown is slipping 
And soon enough we'll have
To take this up another day
Except for loving you and all that's meant
And means  be happily assured
I'm glad again the road's for me
